This dream can mean a few things. Dreams are personal and so it is up to you to ultimately figure it out or decide which feels right. But in general, here are my thoughts.

Water is usually emotions. The rougher the water, the more emotional you may be or being overcome by emotions if the island were getting flooded. In this case, you are stranded, left alone, either because of your emotions (maybe you decided to leave someone because it was getting too emotional) or you want to be alone because of something emotional that happened. You apparently feel alone, no one to talk with about your problem/issue. Ultimately, there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel so to speak, like even though you know you are alone now or feel trapped now, that won't last and things will be fine in the future.

Sometimes an island can be something brought up from your subconscious, something that you don't think of consciously, but in the back of your mind you are thinking about something. Perhaps whatever it is that triggered this dream is something you have observed but not thought much about. It just is or seems like it is normal when in reality though you wonder why.
